In today’s age, design and retail environments are looking to the future of shop fitting systems with the challenge of the environment and sustainability at the forefront.

Retail fitout and design is being stipulated by property management and leasing agents more and more to include environmentally friendly and recyclable materials. Microslat Australia is fulfilling these specifications through its aluminium based solutions which offer retailers the ability to create a versatile eco-friendly display.

The 25mm centre to centre slot wall system is suitable for a diverse range of planograms. Unlike other metal or wood based systems the MicroSlat system has a zero fire rating, is water resistant and thus does not rust or warp and it is very easy to install or relocate within any interior department.

The recently completed WIZZ toy, gadget and gift store at Sydney’s International Airport duty free shops expansion area, whereby C&C Combined from Revesby, NSW were the shopfitters, specified and used our MicroSlat retail merchandising solution. Through the application of MicroSlat’s light and heavy duty systems the display of a range of different sized, shaped and weighted products were able to be presented. MicroSlat was extremely suitable as it worked with their planograms which were based on 25mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm increments. Thus double and single sided gondolas allowed for the configuration of wall displays which met the multiple planogram requirements.

A project for Lucky Charms Newsagency in which the shopfitters were Newstand (NSW) Pty Ltd of Alexandria, NSW was a simpler project to WIZZ. A custom double sided gondola which employed our MicroSlat for both heavy duty and light duty applications allowed for the tailoring needed to suit the 50mm and 75mm planogram requirements.

Coupled with specifying the need for eco-friendly materials designers are looking to specify materials that offer both form and function. MicroSlat fulfils both these requirements as it has been specified throughout three Centro shopping centre food courts as a decorative grille trim. Our product is highly appealing for this function due to its ease to install and the ability to utilise its ‘stack-ability’ in 125mm increments. Thus the unique form and function of MicroSlat Australia’s shop fitting system has made it an ideal solution in response to emerging trends in retail fitout and design.
